Advanced Practice Providers

Position Summary: Florida Neurology Group (FNG) is an independent medical practice with over thirty years of practice operations in the Southwest Florida communities of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. As an expanding physician owned Neurological Practice, we are seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform, under the responsibility and clinical supervision of physicians, clinical outpatient care service defined as: data gathering, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, management of stable and chronic illness.  


Job Summary: Provides direct patient care services. Elicits detailed patient histories, assesses patient medical needs, initiates appropriate diagnostic testing and/or treatment and completes appropriate medical record documentation. Maintains appropriate electronic records (EMR).


Compensation: This position is a contract position with a competitive compensation and benefits package including a patient centric bonus plan, malpractice insurance, CME Allowance, and a generous 401(k) profit sharing plan.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

  • Contribute to physician’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information pertinent to considerations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Provide continuity of care by implementing patient management plans. Assuming the management of patients with acute or chronic stabilized illness under the supervision of physician.
  • Perform evaluation and problem identification of patients. Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests; interpreting test results.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient electronic records.
  • Instruct and counsels patients providing health education when appropriate.
  • Work in a team environment to complete disability and other patient paperwork.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


  • A Master’s degree from an accredited course of study Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Must be a licensed PA or NP eligible to be licensed in the State of Florida
  • Prior Neurological experience

Clinical Team Leader/Supervisor


Job Summary:

Florida Neurology Group is a private medical practice with locations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. The Clinical Supervisor will oversee the duties and performance of the Medical Assistant staff, Triage, and Diagnostic Testing areas to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Provide leadership in maintaining a professional and respectful environment that supports teamwork with co-workers and physicians to deliver an excellent patient experience with the highest quality neurological care. Performs medical assistant duties on a regular schedule.


Essential Functions:

Patient Care Coordination

Oversees patient flow, coordinates equitable MA coverage and lunch rotation assignment. Monitors MA chart preparation, workup and ROS entries. Performs MA duties as needed.



Promotes employee retention, productivity and satisfaction through effective communication and policy implementation. Reviews and monitors staff hours, vacation, PTO, and daily time card entries. Coordinates staffing coverage including comprehensive cross training of personnel. Assists with staff personnel issues including performance management, discipline and hiring.


Risk Management

Ensures the maintenance and safety of facility and equipment through periodic safety audits. Maintains a biohazard log book with knowledge of OSHA and biohazardous waste management standards. Acts accordingly to ensure HIPAA compliance with medical information. Responds to and acts upon inappropriate patient conduct to protect patients, staff and company reputation.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Current MA Certification

Minimum 3 years supervisory experience with proven success in problem solving, employee issue resolution, hiring, training, and personnel documentation

Minimum 3 years medical office experience

Ability to work in the absence of direct supervision

Previous EHR experience, Epic a plus

Ability to work a flexible schedule and at a rapid pace

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, staff, and the general public.

Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Project Manager)

To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate competencies in communication, initiative, decision making, flexibility, dependability, as well as analytical planning and organization. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience including proven interpersonal skills in a diverse medical environment that promotes and develops teamwork ensuring excellent patient care.
